How do I recycle my vapes?

E-cigarettes, E-Liquids and Disposable Vapes have been recognized to be less dangerous for human health than combustible cigarettes and are seen as a promising harm reduction tool for smokers. However, despite the health benefits, vaping is a growing environmental threat due to the additional waste it creates.

At Select Vape we are determined to drive towards a healthier world tomorrow than the one we inherited today, and that’s why we continue to educate our customers on how to Vape in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

A study conducted in the UK market it proved that almost half (49%) of all Vapers don’t know what to do with their used e-cigarette pods and disposable devices. Users in the UK throwing away around two disposable vapes every second containing enough lithium to make batteries for 1,200 electric cars, this is a growing problem and one we as a company are determined to tackle.

What happens when your vape gets to the recycling center ?

At the recycling centre, built-in batteries are removed and the rest of the device is broken down by machine and by hand. The fragments are sorted into different materials such as metals and plastics, and are cleaned. Material that can be collected is sent to specialists – plastics go for further processing and metals go to smelters.
